Dana Beckton leads Sutter Health’s diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) strategy, working to drive DEI programming and initiatives while serving as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team. She oversees organizational efforts to enhance diversity in recruitment, training and development, plays a critical role in further building trust and a sense of belonging with staff, physicians and clinicians, and enhances community partnerships to help Sutter deliver high-quality, equitable and culturally competent care to patients.
Prior to joining Sutter Health, Beckton led DEI efforts for Sentara Healthcare, a not-for-profit healthcare organization serving Virginia and northeastern North Carolina. There, she aligned DEI aspirations to the organization’s strategy and helped operationalize them within the workplace, workforce and community. Beckton previously guided DEI programming for Christiana Care Health System in Delaware and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in Pennsylvania.
Beckton earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Temple University and earned her master’s degree in Organizational Development & Leadership from Saint Joseph’s University.
